Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi ‎رضي الله عنه

Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi رضي الله عنه

He is one of the great companions of The Beloved Prophet ﷺ, and he also belongs to the chain of Masters in the Naqshbandi tariqah.
He was born into a highly respected Zoroastrian family but his search for the truth eventually led him to the religion of Christianity and it is there he learned about the coming of the final Prophet ﷺ.

It is reported that whilst he was in Syria he met a man who was kind to him and advised him to go and find the final Prophet ﷺ.
When Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi رضي الله عنه narrated this story to The Beloved Prophet ﷺ, he was told,
“If you have told me the truth, you have met Jesus the son of Mary.”
On his journey to the Hijaz he was seized and forced into slavery and taken to Madinah, the city of The Beloved Prophet ﷺ.

In order to free him of slavery to his Jewish master, The Beloved Prophet ﷺ with his own blessed hands helped plant date trees along with his companions. Once he was a free man he dedicated his life to The Beloved Prophet ﷺ and the religion of Islam.
He had the honour and duty of cutting the beard of The Beloved Prophet ﷺ and is the first to have translated the Qu’ran into a foreign language, that of Persian.

It was in his destiny that he would meet and enter the religion of The Beloved Prophet ﷺ, and such was his devotion and love to the path that The Beloved Prophet ﷺ said about him,
“Salman is one of us, he is from the people of the house (Ahlul-Bayt).”

May Allah ﷻ sanctify his secret and grant us the love of the Ahlul-Bayt and the Awliya.

Fatiha.
